LinkedIn is now going extra mile!!
A concept case study for a LinkedIn service marketplace that lets users request paid professional guidance sessions.

With our latest “Connect for a Service” feature, now users can connect with their favorite professionals for getting various professional services at the tip of their fingers.

First, let us ask you if you have ever been in these kinds of situations:
I wish Priya (Senior Data Scientist) connects with me for 30 mins, I have a lot of doubts on the domain, and she can clarify them.
I wish Paul (Group Product Manager) checks my resume once, I’m not sure if my resume is looking good for big product companies.
I wish Nitin (Chief Technology Officer) connects with me for few mins, I really want to know how he solved this problem for his startup.
If you were in these situations, don’t worry, we solved this problem for you. With our latest “Connect for a Service” feature, you can request your favorite professionals for a service, and get benefitted.
How this feature works?
Let’s say Bruce (Data Scientist) wants to transit into Product Design. To know more about the role & understand the responsibilities much better, he started searching for experienced product designers on LinkedIn and found Nick Borah (Senior Product Designer at Google).
Normally, If Bruce sends a simple connection request to Nick to connect & interact, Nick might not respond as he is a very busy professional. This is disappointing for Bruce, and there should be a better way.
Now with this “Connect for a Service” feature, he can connect with Nick requesting for a service and get clarity on his doubts. The only difference this time is, for getting the service, Bruce will pay a small price.
How to do this on LinkedIn?
It’s very simple.
Step 1: Find the professional you want to connect for a service.
Step 2: Click on his profile, you can see “Connect for a Service” button.
Step 3: Click on that button and fill all the necessary details.
Step 4: Submit, and Voila!!
How about seeing all about your “Services”?
Each user will have a separate dashboard to know everything about this. This includes information about upcoming sessions, past sessions, recording of past sessions, etc.

Day of the Session?
Once a “Connection for a Service” is submitted, we will take care of everything. Session invite will be automatically added to your calendar, will be notified about the session at appropriate intervals.
The only ask for the user is, “Come, and enjoy the session!”
What’s in it for Bruce?
With this feature, Bruce is able to get clarity on his doubts and excel in his career. Similarly, users can request for several kinds of services, and get their professional needs served.
What’s in it for Nick?
For explaining something which Nick already knew, he is getting paid. With this feature, every experienced professional can get their secondary source of income.
What’s in it for LinkedIn?
At the core, our main aim is help professionals to grow more & more. We are always bounded to this aim, and this latest feature is a step towards that. Also, we will take small commission for creating this ecosystem.
How the pricing for a service will be decided?
In the beginning, we are leaving this choice to the professional who is providing the service. Once we learn more about the quality of the professional through user feedback, we will help in deciding an appropriate price for the service.
Why should you use LinkedIn for this?
There are few websites which are providing similar features, but trust us, there is no comparison at all. No other site has even 10% of our active professionals & verified professionals from 100s of domains are present on our platform. We guarantee a smooth & efficient experience.
Users can see this feature from Dec 1st, 2022.
